How much does a private investigator cost?

In Utah, the best top investigators charge between $100 to $200 per hour. Services and pricing will vary based upon your needs, and a quick discussion will give us both insight into what you are needing and what to budget for.

Explanation of the cost: Insurance rates, technology, and the best talent are all features which impact cost. Our focus is on getting answers in the most efficient manner and although the hourly rate may be higher, the right answer in the right time can be a big savings over the a lower hourly rate that takes too much time.

The most expensive investigator is a bad one. Bad evidence and no results, at any rate, are something that you can never use.

Is my information confidential?

In a word, yes.

In Utah, the handling of personal information by private investigators is primarily governed by the Private Investigator Regulation Act, codified in Title 53, Chapter 9 of the Utah Code. Specifically, Section 53-9-116 addresses the confidentiality of investigative information.

Confidentiality of Investigative Files: A licensed private investigator is prohibited from divulging or releasing the contents of an investigative file to anyone other than the client or employer for whom the information was obtained. Exceptions to this rule include situations where the client or their lawful representative alleges a violation of the chapter by the licensee, or if prior written consent from the client to release the information has been obtained.

What is a private investigator, and what do they do?

It's essential to ensure that the investigator is licensed and adheres to legal and ethical standards to avoid potential legal issues.

Professional licensing in Utah is a must in order to legally use all of the tools and resources that we use to get answers.

How do I choose a reputable private investigator?

To choose a reputable private investigator, verify their licensing and credentials, seek referrals or read client testimonials, and inquire about their experience in handling cases similar to yours. It's also advisable to discuss their investigative methods to ensure they comply with legal and ethical standards.

Reviews and references as well as a conversation will be important. The founder of Trident is on the State Board that monitors the compliance of Private Investigators in Utah.

How long does a typical investigation take?

The duration of an investigation depends on the scope and complexity. Simple cases, like background checks, can take a day, while more intricate cases, such as surveillance or fraud investigations, may take weeks or months.
